The Play.

Pedro and Anna run Hotel Del Pico, a small hotel in the middle of Spain and miles from anywhere.

This run-down hotel is in need of some attention and the facilities are old and dated, but nobody has complained for weeks - but then nobody has stayed there for weeks!

Hotel Del Pico's sleepy atmosphere is shattered one night when a gentleman, fitting the description of an escaped prisoner, arrives and books a room for the night.

Pedro and Anna are convinced their guest is the man the police are looking for and they fear for their lives.

After telephoning the police their panic quickly turns into hysteria. Convinced they are going to be murdered they attack the man, but during the struggle they knock him out. Thinking they have killed him they panic and hide the body, but it's too late, the police are all ready on their way.

Pedro and Anna's night quickly turns awkward when the police arrive followed by a woman needing a room for a night. This quiet sleepy hotel becomes a frenzy of activity as they try to act normal.

Then they discover, to their horror, the prisoner's body has vanished!

This play is very visual and very entertaining especially when you realise all the characters are played by just two actors - how do they do it?

Who is this play aimed at?
Abilities can differ from school to school, but this play has been pitched and translated for Year 9 and 10's and/or students who have been learning French for two years or more. With previous performances many schools have brought in Year 8's and felt that they have enjoyed the plays and gained a lot from them. Your year 11's will also gain a great deal from this play and should not miss out on a valuable experience.

Details
This play, as with all our language plays, is performed by two actors, this one is performed by one male and one female. The set up takes 30 minutes. The play lasts 50 minutes.
Our main concern is that all the students watching can see the performances, so where possible we prefer to perform on a stage or in a studio with raised seating. If you do not have a stage and there will be a large audience can some of them sit on the floor.

What topics are included?
All our plays are written to tie in vocabulary and topics covered in KS3 and GCSE.
